Student misbehavior continues to be a leading frustration for teachers and a drain on instructional time. CHAMPS is designed to help any educator develop (or fine-tune) an effective classroom management plan for grades K-8. Participants will learn and discuss classroom management strategies that improve the classroom climate and reduce disruptions in both socially distanced face-to-face and virtual learning environments.  The CHAMPS approach emphasizes the use of clear expectations and positive relationships to increase student motivation and reduce off-task behavior during instruction and independent work periods in the classroom and online.

How to Attend

  • Live virtual sessions will be conducted via Zoom. Please save these confirmation emails—they will include the links you will need to join the Zoom sessions. Two links for all the week’s sessions—the In-depth Session link for all In-depth Sessions (Tu–Fri) and the Keynote/Panel Discussion link for the Keynote and each Panel Discussion (Tu–Fri). TIP: Use the “Add to Calendar” link in the confirmation emails to set an automatic reminder.
  • Plan to attend each live session. Recordings of In-depth sessions will be available only until the start of the next day’s meeting.
  • In-depth sessions will include homework assignments to be competed before the next meeting, so be sure to set aside additional time each day for that.
  • Registrants should sign up for only one In-depth session.
