Effective schools have effective leadership. Having access to the best research and evidence-based tools and strategies is key to every instructional leader’s success. To reflect the challenges facing today’s administrators, this session will cover topics such as:

  • Building and maintaining a positive school climate for all
  • Developing trusting relationships with all stakeholders
  • Energizing and motivating staff
  • Developing and maintaining an effective schoolwide discipline plan

Participants will be prepared to create and sustain a safe and productive school environment that fosters growth, encourages responsible behavior, and supports student success.

Followed by panel discussion 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm ET/12:00 pm to 1:00 pm PT

NOTE: This session is for principals, assistant principals, aspiring principals, district leadership, and other building leaders.

Session Outline:

  • Facing the storm: managing crisis moments
  • Building positive relationships between stakeholders
  • Navigating the New Normal – considerations for welcoming stakeholders back to school
  • The Continuous Improvement Cycle
  • Managing behavior in common areas and with schoolwide policies
  • Effective responses to misbehavior
  • Positive and proactive classroom management
  • Sustainability of improvement efforts and positive climate and culture

How to Attend

  • Live In-depth sessions will be conducted via Zoom. Each registrant will receive two confirmation emails from Zoom: one for your selected In-depth session and another for the Keynote and daily Panel Discussions. Please save these confirmation emails—they will include the links you will need to join the Zoom sessions. Two links for all the week’s sessions—the In-depth Session link for all In-depth Sessions (Tu–Fri) and the Keynote/Panel Discussion link for the Keynote and each Panel Discussion (Tu–Fri). TIP: Use the “Add to Calendar” link in the confirmation emails to set an automatic reminder.
  • Plan to attend each live session. Recordings of In-depth sessions will be available only until the start of the next day’s meeting.
  • In-depth sessions will include homework assignments to be competed before the next meeting, so be sure to set aside additional time each day for that.
  • Registrants should sign up for only one In-depth session.

Session Materials

  • A copy of the book for the selected In-depth session will be sent directly to each registrant. We recommend you provide your home address to ensure that you receive the materials. If you are registering multiple attendees, please include the email address and shipping address for each individual registrant during checkout. 
  • Session book will ship to arrive on or before July 3, 2020. If your book does not arrive by this time, please contact us.
